FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and can be applied for sealing of eye-ball during vitreoretinal operations. Operation is carried out with application of microinvasive equipment of 25G gauge with installation of "ports" - polyamide tubes 3.6 mm long, with external diametre 0.62 mm and internal diametre 0.57 mm. On finishing all these stages of vetreoretinal operation, viscoelastic preparation with high cohesive and adhesive properties, for example Viscoat or DiscoVisc is introduced into vitreal cavity through "ports" opening, in amount 0.1-0.2 ml. After that "ports" are removed without applying sutures.
EFFECT: reduction of risk of IOP increase or hypotension, retina detachment with preservation of visual functions and improvement of quality of surgical treatment of patients with different vitreoretinal pathology.
