FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmic surgery and can be used for sealing of eyeball with help of "ports" in vitreoretinal surgeries. Method includes piercing sclera with a trocar with a port at an angle of 15° relative to sclera, moving trocar in sclera to a depth of cutting part of trocar, turning trocar in same plane by 60° without changing angle of inclination. Lifting trocar by 40-45° and sticking to centre of vitreous cavity.
EFFECT: method enables to form a self-sealing channel at scleral puncture point with minimal bruising of scleral fibres and reliable fixation of "port" in eyeball.
