METHOD FOR PREDICTING CLINICAL COURSE OF MULTIPLE ORGAN FAILURE IN EXTRACORPORAL THERAPY Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC G01N33/49

Abstract RU 2377566 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to surgery and resuscitation. There is offered method for predicting clinical course of multiple organ failure in extracorporal therapy that involves examination of the patient's haemostasis system. The therapeutic intervention is preceded and followed with evaluating diametre of thrombocytes and number of activated thrombocytes. Decreased average diametre of thrombocytes by 10-12% of pre-therapeutic indicators with simultaneously decreased number of activated thrombocytes at least by 10% ensures to predict a favourable outcome of multiple organ failure, while increased average diametre of thrombocytes by 10-20% combined with increased number of activated thrombocytes at least by 15% allows predicting irreversible development of multiple organ failure.

EFFECT: invention allows reducing lethality, time of staying in resuscitation and intensive care department and can be considered as an efficiency criterion of extracorporal detoxification.
