SUBSTANCE: level of total cholesterol is determined in blood, and when the level of total cholesterol is lowered in the first, second and third days after the operation, to less than 3.4 mmol/l, a high risk of multiple organ dysfunction is stated. With an increase in the total cholesterol level, there is a decrease in the risk of multiple organ dysfunction, with a decrease in the total cholesterol level or with a continuing low level of total cholesterol, an increase in the risk of multiple organ dysfunction is stated. The time from patient's blood sample reception to the result of the risk of organ dysfunction development is less than 60 minutes. The volume of blood taken for study is from 100 mcl to 200 mcl. This method allows to predict multi-organ failure in patients, which makes it possible to prescribe the necessary treatment in a timely manner.
EFFECT: method is a simpler and more rapid method for multiple organ dysfunction prediction in patients after abdominal surgery.
