FIELD: physics; optics.
SUBSTANCE: filter has saw-toothed structures, a radiation receiver, doubly refractive material on molecular liquid crystals and signal processing and control systems. Opposite sides of the filter contain transparent electrode systems. Direction of arrangement of the electrode system on one surface of differs from the direction on the other surface. The doubly refractive material is enclosed between the electrode systems. A decision making processor generates signals for a direction sensor and transmits corresponding signals to the control device, from the output of which signals are distributed between electrode systems, locally modulating the arising electric field, under the effect of which molecules of the doubly refractive material change their orientation such that, external radiation with corresponding orientation of polarisation plane is reflected from the doubly refractive material. To prevent external lateral radiation falling at least in front of one saw-toothed structure, there is a partition which absorbs lateral radiation.
EFFECT: design of an efficient anti-glare filter with minimal losses and adaptive to blinding radiation sources.
