SUBSTANCE: membrane pyrophosphatase gene of bacterium Rhodospirillum rubrum is introduced in a plant genome that enables synthesis of the related protein in plant cells. Particularly, there are designed transgene tobacco plants expressing a membrane H+ -pyrophosphatase gene from bacterium Rhodospirillum rubrum. As a result of transformation, when grown in vivo, the transgene plants exceed the reference length of root system and the reference weight of leaves. The average number of seed capsule of the transgene plants is more than in the reference, while the average amount and weight of seed material of the transgene plants is more as well. The chlorophyll content in leaves of the transgene plants exceeds that of the reference plants. The transgene plants considerably overtake the reference plants in growth.

EFFECT: plants with improved economic-valued indicators, such as accelerated growth, higher length and weight of the roots, increased weight of the leaves, improved biological efficiency and plant resistance to salinisation.
