SUBSTANCE: invention relates to anode replacement technique and can be used in aluminium production by electrolysis. Proposed method comprises using, at least, one anode manipulator incorporating positioning and gripping tools. Note here that in replacing certain used anode by new one, first, position of new anode is determined during preset sequence of measuring the position of fixed point PO located on, at least, one manipulation tool, with respect to a certain set of check point P located on certain objects separated from aforesaid manipulation tool by anode. Invention covers also servicing machine that serves to replace anode in electrolyser.
EFFECT: reduced number of steps in determining position of anode to be replaces.
