FIELD: fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: method is related to the field of forestry and may be used to detect location of forest fire. Method includes isolation of most fire hazardous areas of peatbogs, arrangement of vertical well sections in the area, installation of perforated pipes into wells, filling of pipes with smoke-generating pyrotechnical composition, fixation of well coordinates on forest fire map, layout of patrol routes, patrol observation of smoke, definition of fire border by location of smoke above wells, fixation of its coordinates on forest fire map. Prior to installation into wells, hydrophobic inflammable material is applied onto internal surfaces of perforated pipes with layer from 4 to 7 mm. Hydrophobic material used is bitumen or heavy fractions of oil cracking.
EFFECT: invention increases accuracy of underground fire borders position detection at periodically underflooded peatbogs by 80%.
