FIELD: fire-prevention facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of forestry, and more particularly to methods of determining the location of peat fire. The method of determining the location of peat fire includes identifying fire hazard areas of peat fire, placement in the area of vertical wells, installation of pipes in the wells. The perforated pipes are installed in each well which are provided with perforation areas non-intersecting in height. The pipes are filled with different coloured smoke-producing pyrotechnic compositions. The coordinates of the wells are recorded, as well as the depth and length of the perforated pipes sections and the colour of emitted smoke on the forest fire map. The patrol routes are divided, the patrol surveillance of smoke is carried out. The boundaries and depth of the fire according to the smoke colour and location over the wells are defined, fixed on the forest fire map.
EFFECT: proposed method, compared with the analogue, provides the increased accuracy of determining the location of peat fire by fixing the depth of the fire front line through the installation of pipes in each well, provided with non-intersecting in height sections of perforation, and filled with smoke-producing pyrotechnic compositions differing in colour of the emitted smoke.
