FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of forestry, more precisely to methods of determining the location of peat fire. A method of determining the location of peat fire comprises identifying of the most fire hazard areas of peatlands, location of vertical wells on the territory of the areas, installation of perforated pipes into the wells, filling the pipes with smoke-generating pyrotechnic composition. The internal cavities of the perforated pipes are separated with the partition walls into separate sectors. Each sector is filled with the pyrotechnic composition varying in the colour of the smoke emitted. The coordinates of the wells and the position of the sectors relative to the cardinal directions on the forest fire map are recorded. The patrol routes are divided, the patrol smoke surveillance is carried out, and the location and direction of movement of the fire boundaries is determined according to the colour of smoke emitted over the wells, its coordinates on the forest fire map are recorded.
EFFECT: method, compared to its analogue, provides increase in accuracy of determining the location of peat fire due to recording of the direction of movement of the fire boundaries, due to separating the pipe cavities with the partitions into sectors and filling them with pyrotechnic composition varying in the colour of the smoke emitted of smoke generators different in colour.
