FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing the oxidising reagent involves solid-phase synthesis in an anhydrous medium while heating a first component containing iron ions in oxidation state lower than +4, and a second component containing ions of an active metal, with molar ratio of the first component to the second component from 1:6 to 1:50. The components are placed in a reaction zone in a mixture or layers. The first component with not less than 20 wt % iron content is selected from a group comprising: iron metal, iron oxides, iron hydroxides, iron oxohydroxides, iron chlorides, minerals and nitrates. The second component containing not less than 10 wt % metal is selected from a group comprising sodium metal, sodium hydroxide, sodium peroxide, sodium superoxide, potassium superoxide or combination thereof. The beginning of the reaction is marked by release of oxygen and formation of the end product is marked by stabilisation of oxygen concentration in the reaction zone. The obtained sinter or melt is removed from the reaction zone and cooled to room temperature in an anhydrous medium.

EFFECT: cheap and safe production and use of highly active oxidising reagents and disinfectants containing iron ions.
