FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method to control set of cabs arranged in one shaft consists in intermittent transmission of communication check code in first communication channel from either every elevator cab to every other cab or via common controller. Communication check return code is transmitted via first communication channel in response to check code received by cabs. In case the cab that transmitted communication check code fails to receive one or return codes during preset time interval, inhibit instruction is transmitted via second communication channel from the cab that transmitted communication check code to appropriate cab. Inhibit instruction received, appropriate cab is changed into parking position, aside from travel path, and switching at least one of the other cabs into all-floors-servicing mode.

EFFECT: ease of selecting operating conditions for several elevator cabs in one shaft, ruling out collision cause by communication failure, possibility to use duplication conditions.
