FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: blood pressure in the varicose veins of the esophagus is measured using an endoscopic ultrasound transducer and Waldman's apparatus. With venous pressure of 300-450 mm water, EL is considered inappropriate due to the absence of bleeding. With venous pressure of 600 to 700 mm water, EL of varicose veins of the esophagus is considered effective. With pressure value greater than 700 mm water, EL is considered contraindicated.
EFFECT: method allows to optimize the treatment of patients with the portal hypertension syndrome, to identify risk factors for EL inefficiency and to offer alternative treatment.
