SUBSTANCE: method of producing a non-Newtonian oil composition in form of a lubricant involves steps for heating overbased calcium salicylate with metal content ranging from 4 to 20%, amorphous calcium carbonate, water and a converting agent which contains a fatty acid with 12-24 carbon atoms in an oil medium, and subsequent addition of a mixture of a sufficient amount of alcohol and carbon dioxide in order to complete conversion of amorphous calcium carbonate to calcite. Also described is a method of producing a non-Newtonian oil composition in form of a lubricant containing overbased calcium salicylate, solid particles of colloidally dispersed calcium carbonate in form of calcite and calcium borate. The lubricant contains 28-35% overbased calcium salicylate with metal content ranging from 4 to 20%, oil carrier, calcium carbonate in form of calcite, 1.1-6.7% calcium borate and 1.1-6.5% calcium soap of a soap-forming aliphatic monocarboxylic acid containing at least 12 carbon atoms.

EFFECT: improved high-temperature properties of the lubricant.
