FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines (ICE), particularly to fuel-water emulsion preparation and feed devices incorporated with ICE that are furnished with fuel injection systems. Proposed method comprises producing two flows i.e. pure fuel flow in ICE fuel system and water flow, that, when mixed, produce fuel-water mix. The latter is fed via fuel injection nozzles. Water is added directly at the injection nozzle inlet. Proposed device consists of fuel rail and water feed channel incorporated with the latter representing a static-type mixer. Water feed channel is arranged inside fuel rail and has orifices arranged opposite each nozzle.
EFFECT: improved engine operating performances without notable modifications of ICE fuel system.
