FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: facility consists of multitude of pairs of cogging rolls each containing upper roll and lower roll cogging and transferring hot rolled sheet of heavy plate and of multitude of nozzles spraying water on upper and lower surface of sheet of heavy plate transferred between neighbour pairs of cogging rolls from one to another in direction of transfer. Efficient cooling with jets overcoming vapour film on surface of steel is facilitated due to the following arrangement of nozzles: sum of areas of surfaces where water jets from the spraying nozzles fall - upper side surface on surface of the sheet of heavy plate in region where dynamic pressure of jet is 2 kPa and more is within boundaries from 4 to 90 % of area of steel sheet surface between external circumferences of a roller at the nearest distance between pairs of cogging rolls, while sum of areas of surface where water jets from spraying nozzles of lower side surface fall on surface of sheet of heavy plate is within ranges from 4 to 100 % of area of surface of heavy plate between external circumferences of a roller at the nearest distance between pairs of cogging rolls.

EFFECT: raised efficiency of cooling at reduced expenditures for intended equipment.
