FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: here is disclosed method of formation of wearable layer out of several layers of loose mixtures containing at least 4 wt %, preferably 6-12 wt %, of sodium or potassium liquid glass on base of various granulated fire resistant materials with low heat conductivity. The first layer is introduced between the constant refractory lining of the casting ladle and a template; also each following layer is successively formed between the template and a having been hardened layer of a refractory material. After formation each layer is hardened in full volume before charging the next layer by means of silicon gel formed out of liquid glass at supply of carbon dioxide.
EFFECT: enhanced durability of wearable layer of refractory lining.
