FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: proposed control unit comprises AC motor that makes electric train drive and controlled-voltage variable-frequency converter to control aforesaid drive motor. Also it comprises auxiliary power supply connected to DC supply circuit and load control device connected to said auxiliary power supply. Said load control device receives converter state signal representing converter operating conditions. Aforesaid control device controls the load in response to and compliance with said converter state signal. Note also that train control unit incorporates detection device that pickups information on DC power feed comprising data on power supply state and that of load control device.

EFFECT: reduced electric power consumption, higher reliability.
