FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to mechanical engineering, particularly to braking devices. The band brake consists of a brake pulley secured on a brake shaft; the said pulley is enveloped with a flexible brake band, ends of which are kinematic tied with drives of mechanisms of brake locking and unlocking by means of a lever system. The brake band envelops the brake pulley at angle not less, than 360 degrees. Both ends of the brake band are secured on slides and are designed to be set off in guides oriented to each other at an obtuse angle corresponding to a preset orientation of the ends of the brake band; also vertex of this angle is directed off side from axis of the brake shaft. Slides are kinematic connected with a swivelling torque link by means of hinges; the central hinge of the link is tied with a rod of the brake unlocking drive attached to a frame. A compression spring is installed between the case of the drive and a thrust washer secured on the rod in the zone of central hinge arrangement. Parametres of the brake are set on base of the following ratios: L=(π+φ)R, α=3π-φ, where L is length of the middle part of the brake band between rectangular cuts on each of its ends, φ - is obtuse angle between guides for slides, R is radius of the brake pulley, and α is angle of enveloping of the brake pulley with a brake band.
EFFECT: increased braking torque, facilitating implementation of brake in reverse mechanisms, increased reliability of mechanism kinematic connected to brake and decreased dimensions of brake.
