FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: belt brake comprises brake pulley mounted on the brake shaft. The steel belt turns around the brake pulley. One end of the belt is secures to the end of the lever, and the other end is secured to the intermediate section of the belt. The end of the lever is mounted on the frame through the pivot. The other end of the lever is kinematically connected with the drives of the mechanism for applying and releasing the brake. The brake pulley is provided with three rims. Two outer rims are rounded by additional flexible steel belts whose ends point in the direction opposite to the ends of the first belt. The ends are secured to the ends of the second lever pivotally connected to the frame. The intermediate section of the second lever is connected with the first lever provided with the second arm that projects outside of the pivot of this lever. The distance between the fastening points of steel belts and the ends of the ties of the pivots of the first and second levers are the same. The pivots of the ties are made of common axles. The ties are provided with the screw tension rods. The width of the central belt is larger than that of the side belt by a factor of two.
