FIELD: physics, semiconductors.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to semiconductor physics, particularly to nanostructure semiconductors and can be used when designing alternative sources of energy. The photoactive element has two planar electrodes, one of which is transparent and a photoactive layer in between which is made in form of a neutral polymer layer containing heterogeneous semiconductor nanotetrapods directed such that, when three of their ends are in contact with the transparent electrode, the fourth is in contact with the non-transparent electrode.
EFFECT: design of alternative sources of energy with over 31% efficiency of converting light energy into electrical energy.
