FIELD: physics, semiconductors.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to semiconductor physics, particularly to semiconductor nanostructures and can be used when designing highly efficient computers which use ternary logic. The ternary logic element is based on a nanotetrapod of cadmium chalcogenide, whose three fragments are in contact with three planar electrodes lying at an angle of 120° to each other on an insulating substrate. These three fragments of the nanotetrapod are put into a dielectric matrix whose thickness is not greater than the size of the nanotetrapod. A fourth fragment of the nanotetrapod is in contact with a planar electrode deposited on the dielectric matrix parallel the insulating substrate.

EFFECT: invention widens the class of ternary logic elements.
