FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of electric engineering and can be used in electrical drives for mechanisms in chemical and metallurgy industries. In method of capacitor deceleration of twin-engine asynchronous electric drive, beginnings of both engines stator windings are serially connected with the help of braking contactor via capacitors of unlike phases of engine windings, shafts of which are rigidly connected. Engines are affected as a result of the fact that in each pair of serially connected phases there is a difference of engine phase EMF that equals linear EMF of a single engine. As a result of introduction of common capacitor battery, resistors and thyristors into electric drive circuit, stator windings of engines are connected serially to common capacitor battery via thyristors. Alternately and accordingly to changes of each stator phase total EMF half-waves in time, they periodically connected simultaneously for a short period of time two pairs of unlike phases of engine windings serially to capacitor battery and then disconnected.
EFFECT: increased reliability and efficiency of drive braking as a result of engines self-excitation conditions improvement and increase of braking torque.
