FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: in braking method of double-motor asynchronous electric drive when motors are deenergised from the mains, capacitor bank with resistors is connected to stator windings of motors, and when brake motors reach the value of rotation frequency, which is close to lower critical speed of capacitor braking, resistance of electric circuit is increased between windings of brake motors and capacitor bank, alternation of phases of armature of capacitor bank is changed, and resistance of electric circuit is decreased between windings of brake motors and capacitor bank to initial value. To the device for implementation of this method there additionally introduced is the third braking contactor with three closing and opening contacts and six resistors.

EFFECT: improving braking reliability and efficiency of the drive owing to improving self-excitation conditions of motors and increasing braking moment.
