FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is attributed to the field of electric engineering and can be used in electrical drives for mechanisms in chemical and metallurgy industries. In braking method of double-motor asynchronous electric drive at common usage of one capacitors bank for these motors upon shutdown of the motors the capacitors bank is connected to beginnings of the same phases in two windings of three-winding transformer after respective connection of the above phase ends to the same phase beginnings at stator of the braked motors, and capacitors are connected through the transformer windings to auxiliary resistors. The second and third braking contactors with three closing contacts and three-phase three-winding transformer are introduced additionally to the device.

EFFECT: improving braking reliability and efficiency owing to improving self-excitation conditions of motors and increasing braking moment.
