FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: first measuring electrode (3) and a second measuring electrode (4) are fitted in a measuring pipe (2) of the magnetic induction flow metre (1) in the connecting line passing perpendicular to the magnetic field (H) created by electromagnets (6, 7). Electrode (3) is made from a first material (A) and electrode (4) from a second material (C) different from the first material (A). A unit (12) for controlling/processing results determines volume or mass flow of medium (11) through the measuring pipe (2), based on the measuring voltage across the measuring electrodes (3, 4). The unit (12) for controlling/processing results also determines the component (UG) of direct voltage in voltages (U3, U4) across both measuring electrodes (3, 4) relative the potential (FR) of the earthed reference electrode (5) or based on (UG), gives out medium-specific information, which is total resistance or electrical conductivity of the medium (11) flowing through pipe (2), or ion concentration, electrochemical potential or pH of the medium.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of measuring a multiparametre flow metre.
