FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: flow metre has a measurement pipe (2), a magnet system in form of two diametrically placed electromagnets (6, 7) or at least one permanent magnet. The control/processing unit (8) based on the measured voltage directed into at least one measurement electrode (4, 5) informs on the volumetric or mass flow of medium in the measurement pipe. Part of the surface of the measurement electrode (4, 5) touching the medium is made from chemically inert and electrochemically and mechanically stable diamond which is doped, for example with bromine, for electroconductivity. Under the control of the unit (8), electromagnets (6, 7) generate periodically varying or constant magnetic field (B) in the measurement pipe.

EFFECT: invention increases measurement accuracy owing to considerable reduction of the potential of electrochemical noise superimposed on the measurement signal itself, which is picked up from the electrodes; saves power.
