FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: high-pressure pump incorporating electrohydraulic control is used in ICE electronic injection system and furnished with electromagnetic bypass valve comprising electromagnet and hydraulic gate. Proposed method uses diagnosing of fuel pump by fuel delivery via controlling hydraulic density of fuel pump pressure chamber. Hydraulic density is controlled by service fluid pressure drop time in fuel pump pressure chamber. Said pressure drop time interval is preset with the help of temporary pressure source with electromagnetic bypass valve hydraulic gate locked at force equivalent to that of electromagnet.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnostics.
