SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pulsed radio engineering. The electromagnetic pulse generator has a pulsed or pulse-periodic laser, a voltage source, a coaxial line, a paraboloidal mesh anode, a photocathode, a photocathode screen and a laser radiation scatterer placed inside the anode and confocal with it. The high-voltage conductor of the coaxial line is connected to the high-voltage terminal of the voltage source and to the photocathode at its top. The low-voltage terminal of the voltage source is connected in series to the screen of the line and the parabololidal mesh anode. The laser is mounted with possibility of entrance of the laser radiation into the cavity of the anode and direction of the radiation onto the scatterer. The photocathode screen can be connected in form of an encircling solid metallic shell or in form of cylindrical, tubular or flat conductors placed along the generatrix of the photocathode and uniformly distributed around it, and the voltage source is a high-voltage fast capacitive or inductive generator of pulsed voltage.
EFFECT: increased repetition rate of electromagnetic pulses generated by the generator.
