FIELD: microwave engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of generating electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range relates to microwave engineering and can be used in developing generators of microwave electromagnetic radiation (EMR) with a wide spectral range. Voltage pulse is supplied to the photodiode electrodes, the photocathode is obliquely irradiated with pulsed laser radiation, as a result of which electrons are emitted from the cathode, which are accelerated in the evacuated interelectrode space. Spectrum of electromagnetic radiation generated by the current of electrons is determined by the value and direction of the applied external magnetic field.
EFFECT: regulation of electromagnetic radiation spectrum.
