SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the powerful electromagnetic pulses generating equipment and can be used in pulsed radiolocation and during testing technical means for the action of powerful pulsed electromagnetic fields. Electromagnetic pulses generator comprises a pulsed laser, a photocathode with an aperture for introducing laser radiation, a grid paraboloidal anode, a grid paraboloid dynode, coaxial and confocal to a paraboloidal anode and located between the photocathode and the anode, photocathode and anode are connected to the source of the anode voltage, and the photocathode and the dynode are connected to the source of the dynode voltage, and the laser radiation diffuser is made in the form of a mirror paraboloid diffuser of laser radiation, which is coaxial and confocal mounted inside the paraboloidal anode, wherein the opening in the photocathode is made along the paraboloids axis. Generator further comprises a coaxial and confocal to the paraboloidal anode gate paraboloid electrode, the gate paraboloid electrode is configured as a system of diverging identical metal wires disposed within the paraboloidal anode. At one end, adjacent to the axis of the paraboloid, metal wires are electrically connected to each other, and at the other end, each metallic wire is electrically connected to a corresponding matched load, closed to paraboloidal anode, and the anode and the gate electrode are connected through a separation capacitor to a synchronized with the laser source of a pulse voltage by means of a coaxial line passing through the aperture in the photocathode. Guide flat electrode is located in the gate paraboloid electrode equipotential space and divides this space into two electromagnetically mirror half-spaces, wherein the guide flat electrode axis of symmetry coincides with the axis of the paraboloids, the guide flat electrode is electrically connected to the locking paraboloid electrode from the side of the vertex of the paraboloid. In addition, in one of the two electromagnetically mirror half-spaces in the plane of the generator output aperture, a phase-shifting dielectric insert is installed, which fills half the plane of the generator output aperture, limited by a paraboloidal anode and guide flat electrode, and slowing down the pulsed electromagnetic radiation flux generated in this generator half-space with respect to the pulsed electromagnetic radiation flux generated in the second mirror first half-space of the generator, for a time providing a corresponding phase shift between these mirror polarization-opposing fluxes of pulsed electromagnetic radiation, necessary for the formation of output electromagnetic pulses.

EFFECT: increase in the EMR emitted power density generated in a given direction in the far zone of the emitter of the EMP generator.
