FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of production, conversion and distribution of electric energy and may be used in devices for direct conversion of thermal energy into electric one. Thermoelectric converter comprises flat soldered joints of heterogeneous materials and magnetic system, besides one of soldered joints is in magnetic field and plane of soldered joint is parallel to vector of magnetic induction, and the second soldered joint is outside magnetic field or at least in the area of the second soldered joint component of magnetic induction vector parallel to plane of the second soldered joint is substantially less than in the area of the first soldered joint. Potential barriers in soldered joints are narrow, i.e. transfer of electrons through barriers has ballistic character.

EFFECT: conversion of thermal energy into electric one with high efficiency ratio.
