FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry, particularly, to brake systems. Proposed device comprises brake drum and brake shoes with friction linings secured thereto. Working surfaces of the rim and friction linings have surfaces plies heated at single, cyclic of long-term braking due to current generation at the surface of friction pairs. At braking, thermal resistance of the contact between metal-polymer pairs produces plain and semiconductor films at friction that feature heat- and electrically-conducting properties to make set of micro thermal batteries. Temperature difference us generated at junctions of said micro batteries. Passage of the main quantity of heat through the film generates sufficient output power for operation of said set of micro thermal batteries. Proposed method consists in heating the thermal electrodes of plate thermocouples by single cyclic or long-term braking due to current generation at the surface of friction pairs. Said plate thermocouples make said set of micro thermal batteries. Their thermal EMF is used to define the thermal conditions of friction pairs.
EFFECT: thermal EMF is used to define the thermal conditions of friction pairs.
