SUBSTANCE: handover method involves sending a measurement report message from user equipment, having information on neighbouring cells to a service radio network controller, delivering a message with a request for adding a radio line, having an optional information element which identifies the connection frame number for high-speed packet access to data from the said service radio network controller to a base station in response to the said measurement report message, sending a reply message to the request for adding a radio line from the said base station to the said service radio network controller in response to the said message on request for adding a radio line, and sending a message on updating the active set with the said optional information element which identifies the said connection frame number for high-speed packet access to data from the said service radio network controller to the said user equipment in response to the said message with a reply to the request for adding a radio line.
