FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for YAG-laser fragmentation of lens nucleus before cataract ablation by phaco-chop technique. Laser pulses are applied from lens centre to its periphery in three directions along embryonic joints until three planes of lens nucleus fracture are obtained, duration of each pulse constitutes 30 psec, energy in pulse is 1.5-2.5 mJ, number of pulses is 80-120.
EFFECT: method allows to facilitate stage of nucleus fracturing and reduction of energy parametres of ultrasonic impact on eye structures in course of cataract ablation by phaco-chop technique.
