FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgical industry and can be implemented for processing melts, for example metallurgical slag. The installation for processing melted slag consists of facilities for melt charging, for withdrawal of steam-gas mixture, for cooling and forming size of finished product in a rotating tank wherein there are installed balls; generatrix of the tank is composed of grate bars; distance between the grate bars is equal to 0.6-0.8 of diametre of the least ball loaded into the tank; also the installation consists of the cooling facility and facility for unloading of finished product. The tank is of a pear-shape with concentric mouth in form of a reverse cone for melt charging; rotation axis of the installation is tilted and angle of tilt can be regulated. The cooling facility is made in form of air duct and water duct with nozzles for water supply. Here is also disclosed the procedure for processing melted slag.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of process, processing melted slag heterogeneous in wide range of viscosity; reduced consumption of water for melt cooling, elimination of caking at output from tank.
