FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly to processing melted slag. Method of processing includes supply of melted slag by means of a reception assembly of a rotating drum of a crystallizer with a grate onto metal balls, its cooling and hardening, formation of grains with the size of 10-70 mm. Water consumption for cooling the melted slag is maintained within the range of 0.8-1.0 m3 per ton of the melted slag. Within the temperature range of 1,600→600 °C the melt is cooled at the rate of not less than 30-70 °C/sec, for this purpose prior to discharge the melt is maintained in a revolving with the linear speed of 0.2-0.5 m/sec interball space of the metal balls from 10 to 30 sec at the water flow rate for hardening and cooling of 60-70 % of total, half of which is supplied by jets within the period of the hot melt discharge cycle, second one - during the cold cycle. After discharge of the product it is cooled by water or a water-air mixture at the rate of not less than 2-5 °C/sec and the use of 30-40 % of total specific consumption of water.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides decreased dust and harmful emissions formation.
