FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine operating method involves introduction of some part of fuel to suction header. External mixture formation is performed by introducing some part of fuel with volume of 20% of complete cyclic fuel supply to suction header. Internal mixture formation is carried out by spraying to the cylinder of the remaining part of fuel with volume of 80% of complete cyclic supply with mixture ignition due to compression. Complete cyclic fuel supply corresponds to excess air factor α=1.0÷1.05. Device for combined mixture formation includes suction header which is equipped with mixing chamber made in the form of ellipsoid of rotation. On mixing chamber there installed is additional atomiser and supersonic magnetostriction vibrators located coaxially on both sides at an angle of 30° to major axis of mixing chamber.
EFFECT: reducing specific fuel consumption, reducing toxicity level of waste combustion products, increasing specific power properties of an engine.
