FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in leaving slag of preceding melting in converter, in charging slag forming materials on slag, in scrap loading, in iron casting, in oxygen blasting at changing oxygen consumption and position of tuyere above level of dead bath, and in dispersed introduction of lime and manganese containing materials. Additionally solid carbon containing fuel is introduced into the converter at amount of 2-30 kg/t of load; 40-60 % of lime consumed per melting and 3.5-6.5 kg/t of iron of manganese contained material are loaded on slag. Upon scrap loading fuel at amount of 50-90 % of total consumption per melting is introduced into the converter; further oxygen blasting is commenced. The rest amount of manganese contained material is introduced by portions of 0.1-03 kg/t in the first half of blasting; while fuel is introduced in period of 35-70 % of total duration of blasting with portions 0.5-2.0 kg/t, when the tuyere is at position 14.0-17.0 of reduced dimensions of nozzle diametre.
EFFECT: increased heat balance, improved slag forming, reduced metal loss and loss of heat with exhaust gases.
