FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device is designed for optical inspection of open surfaces of objects from at least two different viewing directions (P1, P2). The device has a telecentric unit which forms an image, a corner mirror and auxiliary mirrors in the zone (K) of the said unit between it and the object. The object is placed between faces of the corner mirror and the telecentric unit is directed towards the combination of the object and corner mirror. Auxiliary mirrors are directed and placed at such distance from the telecentric unit that, the difference in distance to the image for directions (P1 and/or P2, and/or P3, and/or P4) while passing with reflection from two faces or one face of the corner mirror, or bypassing the said faces, is compensated for by reflection from auxiliary mirrors.
EFFECT: possibility of inspecting a surface in all its transverse directions using optical apparatus, as well as using an image in analysing all types of defects and properties of the object.
