FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to immobilisation of liquid radioactive wastes from processing of spent nuclear fuel of NPP, nuclear-powered submarines, which are produced in recycling and deactivation of NPS and other objects related to use of radioactive substances, compounds. Concept of the invention is as follows: method of low temperature immobilisation of liquid radioactive wastes (LRW) by their treatment with hydrochloric acid water-alcohol solutions of silicon-organic compounds, including hydrolyzates of alkylsilicates with further maintenance of reaction mixture at the temperature of 5-60°C, besides as hardening components, aqueous salts of silica are used, which are produced by membrane concentration of natural hydrothermal solution, and to accelerate hardening and for further spontaneous formation of homogeneous material that self-compacts in process of storage, specified aqueous salts are used together with water-alcohol hydrochloric acid hydrolyzates of alkylsilicates with pH of mixture equal to 1.5-4.
EFFECT: self-strengthening of produced materials at normal storage, possibility to organise decentralised low temperature immobilisation of LRW in field conditions.
