FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: flat panel display has exhaust holes in the display zone. In this flat panel display, the front substrate having electrodes X and Y and a rear substrate having an address electrode are packed in parallel in a given interval. The space between the packed substrates is evacuated to create a vacuum and filled with gas through the exhaust holes in the display zone, that way reducing the non-radiating zone of the panel to less than 1 mm.
EFFECT: increased efficiency when making a multiple-panel plasma display panel of infinite extension since there are no seams between panels when making the multiple-panel plasma display panel.
