INTRAOCULAR LENS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61F2/14

Abstract RU 2391070 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology and can be used for surgical correction of high myopia. Intraocular lens has an optical part in the form of a defocusing lens and a supporting element. The supporting element is made in the form of a curvilinear shape, which two sides are flat and parallel to each other, the longitudinal axis of the lens and are located at the same distance from it. The other two sides are made convex in the form of circular arcs concentric to the optical part. The supporting element is provided with two identical curved ribs, sides of each convex are made convex in the form of circular arcs concentric to each other, which radius of curvature exceeds the radius of the supporting element convex side. Convexity of each rib is directed to the opposite direction of the optical part, the outer side of the rib is connected to the flat side of the supporting element. The connections of the ribs with the supporting element flat side are located cater-cornered, and the inner side of the rib is connected to the convex side of the supporting element and forms grooves between them. The ribs are directed towards each other and towards the longitudinal axis and go beyond it. Peaks of the ribs are blunted. Two diametrically located holes are located at the supporting element, which are situated on the longitudinal axis, the hole is made in the center of the optical part. The optical part and the supporting element, including ribs, are made as a single entity bent to the back surface, at that the entire lens is made with a variable radius of curvature increasing from center to periphery, and the places of transition from one surface to another are rounded.

EFFECT: risk reduction of postoperative complications such as the development of cataracts and pigmentary glaucoma, as well as expanding the arsenal of intraocular lenses (IL) arsenal.
