FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: intraocular lens (IOL) comprises an optical part as a minus lens and diametrical bearing supports executed as identical curvilinear figures being symmetrical relative to the central axis of a lens and connected by concentric arches at periphery of the optical part. Maximum width of bearing supports exceeds diametre of the optical part in 1.2-1.5 times. Lateral faces are mutually concave. The periphery of each bearing support is supplied with two flanges laying in a plane parallel to principal plane of the lens, starting from lateral edges of the bearing support of width 4-10 times less than that of the bearing support and interconnected by circular arcs somewhat concave towards the optical part. The latter has a hole sized 0.2 to 0.6 mm in the centre. The bearing supports are executed as an integrated whole with the optical part and excurved to its back surface, while the back surface of the optical part and the bearing supports is made with variable curvature increasing from the centre to periphery.
EFFECT: reduced risk of postoperative complications, extended product range of intraocular lenses.
