FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology. Artificial lens of eye (ALE) is made in form of a single part and contains an optical part equipped with supporting elements for placing ALE in the posterior chamber of the eye. Optical part contains a negative or positive peripheral lens of annular shape with an external diameter of 4.5–6.5 mm and optical cylinder with external diameter of 1.5–4 mm. Optical cylinder is designed as a positive or negative lens and is located in the central part of the peripheral lens in such a way that its upper part extends beyond the front surface of the peripheral lens by 0.01–4 mm, and the rear optical surfaces of the cylinder and peripheral lens are a single optical surface. Moreover, the optical cylinder and the peripheral lens have an optical force, ensuring the coincidence of their foci.
EFFECT: application of this invention will improve visual functions, reduce the development of postoperative complications.
