FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to double-roller continuous casting of Al-Mg series aluminium alloy and can be applied in manufacturing of components for vehicles and industrial and engineering equipment. Aluminium alloy features wide crystallisation interval and includes mg in amount of 3 to 14 wt %. Method is implemented in the following conditions: v/D < 0.3 and √(s/v)/(d/2) > 250, where: D is double roll diametre, m; v is rotation velocity of double rolls, m/sec.; s is sheet crystallisation distance, m, equal to roll perimetre starting from point of first molten metal contact with double rolls to point of sheet output from rolls; and d is cast sheet thickness, m.
EFFECT: monitoring of casting thickness defects in sheet center.
