FIELD: physics, communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in personal call systems. To achieve the result, personal call groups are assigned wireless terminals. Several data bits of the first message of a personal call are modulated (using non-coherent modulation) on the first signal of the personal call and are transmitted from the base station to wireless terminals (WT). WT are activated. The first signal of the personal call is received and assessment is quickly made of whether their personal call group must wait for the second signal of the personal call. If so, the WT receive the second signal of the personal call, otherwise the WT are returned to an inactive power saving mode. The base station modulates (using coherent modulation) a certain number of data bits of the second message on the second signal of the personal call and transmits this signal to the WT. Based on information in the first and second signals of the personal call, a WT can determine that it is that WT to which the personal call was directed and process personal call commands. This target called WT can transmit an acknowledgement signal on an allocated up-link resource.
EFFECT: efficient two-stage personal call in wireless communication systems.
