FIELD: radio-engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to communication engineering, and namely to methods of automatic repeat requests in multiple access wireless communication system. Essence of invention is that different negative acknowledgement signals (NACK signals) are used for indicating various relative levels of success in relation to a bad try to decode the received signal. Acknowledgement signal (ACK signal) is used in case of successful decoding. The device that generated and transmitted reference encoded signal receives NACK signal and selects some part of excess information, e.g. additional error correction bits subject to being transmitted based on NACK signal value. If NACK signal indicates a low level of success of decoding, which indicates a relatively big number of errors in decoded signal, then a big block of excess information is selected and transmitted. If NACK signal indicates relatively successful decoding, e.g. relatively a few errors, then a small block of excess information is selected and transmitted. If a small block of excess information is transmitted, new information can be transmitted with excess information.
EFFECT: increasing efficiency of using restricted sizes of band pass available for data transmission.
