FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for extracting selenium out of slimes of copper electrolysis consists in oxidising burning, in catching selenium dioxide out of furnaces gases with water solutions and in extracting selenium from solution. Also selenium is extracted from solution by electric extraction in an electrolytic cell, wherein space is divided at initial value of pH not less, than 2.5, thus creating buffer properties of electrolyte existing in form of selenite-biselenite solution. The process is performed at cathode density of current 200-500 A/m2. Ruthenium titanium is used as electrode material.
EFFECT: raised efficiency of selective extracting selenium out of slimes without expensive reagents.
