FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery and neurotraumatology also can be used for treating odontoid process fracture. A trajectory of fracture fixation is calculated. On the anterior of neck, in a skin fold, a skin incision of the length 1.5±0.5 is made to approach the anterior surface of the odontoid and third cervical vertebral bodies. A tubular retractor with a cut of 45° bearing against the anterior surface of the odontoid and third cervical vertebral bodies is inserted; then reposition and fixation of the odontoid process fragments follow.
EFFECT: method provides lower traumatism and prevention of intraoperative complications.
